The mission of the Lifeways organisation is:
- To deliver excellent, individualised and inclusive services to people with a range of disabilities and complex needs in their communities. The services we deliver will make a positive impact on the life of each person we support.
- To provide excellent services and value for money to our wide ranging customer base.
Our approach to achieving our objectives is underpinned by ‘respect’ and we will:
With respect to the people who use our services:
- Deliver individualised services which promote choice, independence, choice, dignity and self-direction.
- Ensure they are at the centre of everything we do.
- Deliver care and support in the setting that best suits each person’s needs and preferences and actively promotes the principles of citizenship and which is underpinned by our organisational value base.
- Deliver excellent individualised services that are flexible and responsive to the requirements of each person.
With respect to our Customers:
- Deliver services that are cost-effective, responsive and excellent value for money.
- Deliver innovative, individualised and flexible services that are adaptive to changing needs and requirements.
- Deliver services that maximise independence and which therefore aim to reduce the cost of support and care whenever possible.
With respect to our staff:
- Provide excellent and comprehensive training and support and supervision to enable each member of staff to successfully support each person who uses our service.
- Ensure our staff are supported to work to the highest standards.
- Create a participative, listening environment for setting goals, seeking contribution, and encouraging individual responsibility.
- Satisfy the individual need for recognition, rewards, self-esteem and personal growth.
With respect to our Communities:
- Conduct our operations in a manner which is underpinned by our organisational value base.
- Deliver services that help support social inclusion.
- Promote a neighbourhood and community pride in the understanding and support of people with disabilities and complex needs.
