Lifeways, the UK’s leading provider of supported living for people with complex needs, has just agreed a 12-month partnership deal with social care charity In-Control to lead the way in delivering the ‘Putting People First and Personalisation’ agenda across the UK. The project will be led by Jemima Taylor, Development Director and Dorothy Delooze, Quality Director.
Jemima Taylor, Development Director for Lifeways, said: “As an organisation we are committed to offering greater choice and control to the individuals we support through the introduction of individual budgets. Our partnership with In-Control reflects this commitment and drive for innovation that we, as an organisation, are renowned for within the supported living sector. We value the wealth of experience In-control will contribute and are excited by the challenges and opportunities this project will bring to the business and the service enhancements we will be able to offer to our customers.”
Dorothy Delooze, Quality Director for Lifeways, added: “We are already championing self-directed support and management of individualised budgets. We are confident that the groundwork we are putting in now will bring huge benefits for the people we care for and support, and ensure they can lead even better active and independent lives with clear choices about the care and support they receive.”
Nigel Devine from In-Control has been appointed to work with Lifeways. He currently leads In-Control’s ‘Provider Development Programme’ which aims to support providers in their response to customer need in the light of personal budgets and the move towards personalised services.
Nigel said: “I am delighted that In-Control and Lifeways have agreed to a 12-month working programme. We will be working together towards meeting the Government’s agenda. Our aim is to ensure that Lifeways builds on its current strengths and responds to this huge agenda and transformation of services and support across the organisation, offering innovative and flexible services to all.”
