| Lifeways launches new website with a human touch |
12th November 2008When leading care provider Lifeways Community Care decided to launch a new website, it needed to look no further than the people at the heart of its organisation. The organisation, which provides care and support to more than 1,000 people across the UK through supported living or residential care, began a search to find the face of Lifeways which would reflect the care and support given to every person who uses its services. Robert and his support worker Mwanaidi Mwakere were chosen to appear on the new website at www.lifeways.co.uk, as well as on new brochures and leaflets, while many other individuals of Lifeways’ services were interviewed to share their stories. The result is a website with a warm heart and one that touches the lives of many of the individuals of Lifeways’ increasing range of services and significant numbers of new service contracts. Chief Executive Paul Marriner said: “We wanted our new marketing materials to really reflect the human heart of Lifeways; every individual has a personal story to tell and we felt the best way to tell the Lifeways story is through the words of the people who use our services. “We think that our services are best described by the people who use them every day. We are always looking for new ways to increase accessibility for all of the individuals we support, and we see the main benefit of our new website being to bring us even closer to everyone who uses our services. We are continually expanding our range of services for people with learning disabilities and complex needs, and we hope that our website will become the first port of call for people who want to find out information about the services we offer, whether its about jobs and recruitment, or the latest developments in care and support or finding out more about ways of financing care and support services.” The marketing materials were written by Essex-based Mosaic Publicity while Norfolk-based zoomzoom, re-developed and re-built the website, retaining the Lifeways branding but making the site as accessible and as interactive as possible. The Lifeways website now highlights the many career development opportunities that exist within the organisation, with vacancies, job descriptions and an online application form for people interested in working for the company. There are full details on careers, up-to-date news and contact details and a series of personal testimonials which highlight the true personal stories of some of the individuals throughout the country. A new suite of marketing material to support the website is now in development. Lifeways is now completing its roll-out of £1 million-plus investment in new technology to support its increasing services and significant range of new service contracts. This year Lifeways has expanded its range of services for people with learning disabilities and complex needs, securing a number of new contracts in Southampton, Nottinghamshire, Sunderland, Dudley, Calderdale, East Ayrshire, South Lanarkshire and Leicester which will enhance the broad range of services it offers. |
