| New Lifeways Board confirms top quality award |
![]() 12th June 2008 Lifeways, a leading provider of specialist community care in the UK, has been re-awarded the coveted ISO 9001:2000 quality certification. The certification was re-awarded to the company’s 2,500 staff who operate nationwide offering specialist community support and care services for more than 1,000 people with special needs. The company first took the award two years ago. The on-going award success follows Lifeways announcement of its new Board line-up which is placing quality at the top of its agenda as it oversees the company’s expanding range of contracts and new acquisitions. Led by Chief Executive Paul Marriner, the new Board includes Operations Director, Dorothy Delooze and Finance Director, Frances Daley. Other appointments to the senior executive team include Sue Houston as Head of Quality and Clinical Excellence and a new Board chairman, Richard Clough, who has a long and successful track record in the healthcare industry. The ISO 9001:2000 certification is only awarded to companies who are shown to be dedicated to providing the service user with the best product and service possible, delivered to a consistently high quality standard. The re-award marks a further step forward for the new Board who are committed to moving the company from its successful focus on supported living towards a wider programme of providing some specialist registered care for individuals with complex needs. Lifeways' Quality Lead, Sue Houston, said: “Lifeways was re-awarded the ISO 9001:2000 certification because of the continual delivery of quality services, which we have successfully delivered across the entire organisation. “It further demonstrates our commitment to a consistent level of quality, recognised under International standards. We are proud of our strong emphasis on quality through our continuous improvement program complementing all of our other quality initiatives. Chief Executive Paul Marriner said: “Lifeways is delighted to announce that once again we have been awarded this accreditation across our expanding range of service and achievements. Quality is the cornerstone of our business and we are proud of our fine reputation for quality of support and care provision. We will now continue to undergo regular internal and external audits by third party ISO assessors in order to further retain our certification."
