The garden at Gypsy Corner, near Cheltenham, is an extra special place; in fact, because it’s fully wheelchair accessible, residents Paul and Julian are out there enjoying their lovely surroundings at every possible opportunity.
Last year, everyone decided to have a go at creating a sensory garden – and the result is amazing! It’s a magical spot for a bit of quiet relaxation, complete with a mini waterfall and decorations that shimme in the sunshine.
Developing daily living skills such as cooking are a high priority at Gypsy Corner and to encourage healthy eating, Senior Support Worker, Roger, decided this spring to dig a vegetable patch.
Paul, Julian and the entire staff team are now eagerly watching the progress of crops of potatoes, beans and broccoli, plus strawberries in a mini greenhouse, and hoping for plenty of fresh, home grown produce to use in the meals they prepare together (if the visitors to their bird table don’t get there first!) |
