People diagnosed with mental health needs can benefit extensively from the emotional and practical support provided by Lifeways Community Care. We begin by assessing an individual’s requirements, devising a 'person-centred plan', which looks at the need for Supported Living or Residential Care, backed up by the required daily activities, part of our Individual Support Services. Working to guidelines Our teams work to guidelines laid down under the Mental Health Act, Community Care Act and Mental Capacity Act, receiving relevant training to ensure they understand the complexities of each individual user’s behaviour. We also work closely with medical professionals and psychiatrists, where we can help administer certain medication, or ensure that regular reviews are undertaken. Forensic services Through our forensic services, we also advise, support and manage people who have complex life histories and who may have experienced detention under the Mental Health Act or have come to us through the judicial system. |
