An important part of delivering high-quality care involves making sure that the people we support have homes where they enjoy living and are happy.

Investing in our property estate is a key part of our transformation agenda, and involves a significant three-year investment in our residential homes.

Our residential services are separate from our supported living services, who support people in less intensive settings.

We have already started work upgrading our residential services, and are working at pace to deliver these projects.

These are big, planned investments which involve much more than just a refurbishment. It is common to see one project of this size and scale completed at a time, but our property team - who you can see pictured in the image at the top of this article - is working on two or three of our residential homes at the same time, with some great results being achieved.

Over the next few months, we will be sharing how we have improved things for the people we support, as well as for our teams who work at these locations.

Often, we are working in the homes of people with complex behaviours while we carry out this work, and this means being sensitive to each individual person's needs, through careful on-site management, as well as compliance with health and safety requirements. The safety and well-being of the people we support at our Residential homes is our priority at all times.

How we feel about where we live or work can have a huge impact on us all. It’s lovely to hear the feedback from our teams about how these changes have positively impacted the people who live there, as well as how we have achieved a much-improved working environment for our Lifeways teams.
