Alexandra Park is a unique development located in Newbiggin by the sea comprising of purpose built individual bungalows that can be provided as either residential care or supported living. As such, the service is especially suited to individuals with highly complex needs who are unable to live with others but who also need an infrastructure of skilled and consistent support.
A unique resource
Each person’s service is designed around their specific needs through our comprehensive referral and assessment process so that the support is right from day one. Thereafter, support packages can be adjusted in light of individual progress made. Alexandra Park has an excellent track record in reducing the levels of staffing required by individuals over time and also in supporting individuals who are leaving hospital treatment and assessment settings.
At Alexandra Park there are 28 single occupancy bungalows and a four bedroom house, all located within extensive grounds. Support is provided over a 24 hour period by dedicated support teams in each bungalow. A substantial amount of practical experience and research lie behind the design, concept and planning of Alexandra Park, resulting in an environment where individuals can truly thrive through learning life skills and becoming socially included. There’s also an on-site resource centre that is used for training, social activities and administration for the site.
A personalised approach
At Alexandra Park we want the people we support to live fulfilling lives, and we empower them to identify their goals, learn new skills and take positive risks to achieve the outcomes that are important to them. We put the individual at the centre of their care from day one.
As with all our support, person-centred planning is central to how we work. Positive behaviour support and active support form the cornerstone of everything we do – we ensure we offer opportunity, choice and control for each individual.
