Valued in your community
At Greenlands View, we place people’s personal interests, needs and aspirations at the heart of absolutely everything we do. We are in a peaceful residential area with a range of rural walks - Bluebell Woods and the local reservoir are popular destinations.
For people who like to stay active, we have year-round access to Northfield Pool and Fitness Centre. Avid readers can visit Bartley Green Library.
Neighbouring Halesowen offers Shipleys Amusement Centre, Cornbow Shopping Centre, a library and high-street banks, while Merry Hill Shopping Centre also offers larger shops and an Odeon Cinema.
Nearby Birmingham has a larger range of amenities, including the Thinktank Science Museum, the Bullring Shopping Centre, O2 Academy, Sealife Centre, and a number of theatres and art galleries.
Living at this service
Greenlands View is ideal for someone with complex needs aged between 20 and 40. The people living here are aged between 23 and 37 and have complex care needs and challenging behaviour, so we are equipped to support someone who has equally challenging needs.
The people here have varied personalities too - one man is non-verbal, another enjoys his own space and spending time alone, while the other men like to socialise and spend time in the community.
At Greenlands View, people enjoy walking in the local area, cooking, socialising, doing chores, shopping, listening to music, going to the disco, running, sensory play, arts and crafts, swimming, fireworks and watching films. People choose how they spend their time - day trips to White Castle, Liverpool, Manchester and the circus are a few recent examples. This is a busy household where people like to stay active so we work in collaboration with each person to make sure they can do whatever activities they’d like.
“Greenlands View is a large house in a very peaceful area that is quiet without feeling isolated. It’s easily accessible too. The bungalow is a new build so everything is modern and spacious. Every bedroom is personalised. The staff are long-standing and have a great relationship with the people we support - they all really enjoy working here.” Manager, Greenlands View
