Lifeways joined key members of Wyre Forest Borough Council, Worcester County Council and our partners HBV and Inclusion Housing to open our brand new supported living development in Stourport-on-Severn on Friday 9th March.
Stourside is a £3 million development consisting of 15 specialist apartments, providing tenants with accommodation that meets their exact individual needs, with Lifeways providing 24 hour support.
The opening ceremony was both a celebration and a chance for prospective tenants and their family members to experience the finished development, speak first hand with the team involved in the project, and find out more about the service. As with all our new build properties, Stourside is in a great location, close to local shops, restaurants, transport links and other amenities. The apartments feature modern kitchens, wide door openings and assistive technology aimed at enhancing independence.
Alastair Sheehan, Development and Planning Director at HBV, said; “Stourside is a prime example of how specialist supported housing can make a huge difference to adults with disabilities. Having their own home, along with onsite care means the tenants are able to live more independently and integrate into their local community. We are proud to showcase this development as a fine example of the positive outcomes that can be achieved for vulnerable people with the right kind of housing and support.”
