Lifeways’ innovative new supported living service is one step closer to opening its doors. Scheduled to open in the new year, Avon Place will provide high-quality accommodation and support to vulnerable adults with learning disabilities and autism.

Developed in partnership with HomeLife and Inclusion Housing to provide contemporary and personalised flats, the purpose-built accommodation comprises of six one-bedroom apartments and each flat comes with modern white goods.

Assistive technology is built into the apartments in the form of a staff call system and can be further tailored to the needs of each individual with additional items such as door alarms and epilepsy sensors. A door intercom system and CCTV are also included to provide residents with a safe environment in which they can live independently.

Conveniently located in a quiet neighbourhood in the heart of Studley, Avon Place is in an ideal location for accessing the local community and is close to local shops, amenities and transport links.

This is a great opportunity to be part of a new service and we’re currently recruiting for support workers and a team leader. We are keen to build a team of people who share our passion and want to make a real difference in people’s lives. The team will help adults with learning disabilities and autism to develop their life skills and enjoy being at the heart of the community and we encourage people from the local area to get in touch if they are interested in this type of role.

Ros Creamer, Community Engagement & Development Manager, said “We are excited to be opening Avon Place, it is a new property for Lifeways and is modern and finished to a high standard. The apartments provide an ideal mix of independent living whilst having staff support on-site. Living in a shared building means people can benefit from social community living while having still having their own space and their own front door.”
