Mayfair Court

Four hundred members of the community recently attended the very first summer fête organised by Mayfair Court, our supported living service in Raunds, Northamptonshire.

The fête was full of activities for the community to enjoy. These included face painting, a playdough creating table, a barbecue, and a tombola raffle. There was also food on sale cooked by a team member, and home-made cakes baked by team members, people we support and their families.

Stealing the show were wooden arts and crafts, including drinks mats and planters, which are created by people we support at Mayfair Court.

Demand for the hand-made wooden items was so strong that there is currently a backlog of orders from members of the community.

In total, the fête raised £850, which will go towards the purchase of a pergola to create a better outdoor space for individuals living at the service.

‘A really positive experience’

Organising the fête was Rena Jewkes, Mayfair Court’s service manager, alongside her team members, individuals we support, and their families.

“The fête achieved a really positive experience for people we support, family members, and the community around us,” said Rena.

“It was a lot of hard work but fun and exciting for everyone involved,” Rena added.

Due to the success of this community event, Mayfair Court will be holding its next fête on 30 July!
