We provide short breaks for adults with learning disabilities and Autism, we can accommodate up to six people at one time. Copwood is managed by a large, experienced team in close association with social workers and a clinical team, we collectively work to ensure we meet the needs of each individual through a range of activities.
Sitting at the heart of the local community, Copwood offers opportunities for positive social inclusion as well as the skilled support needed by each individual. There are spacious and comfortable communal areas and a large enclosed garden to the rear. Assisted technology is installed according to individual needs, and everyone is encouraged to truly personalise their own bedroom.
At Copwood we offer the highest standards of residential support through a commitment to person-centred planning, attention to detail, engaged staff teams and most importantly a passion for enabling the people we support to achieve their goals and self-direct their support as much as they can.
Positive behaviour and active support underpin everything we do. We understand that each individual is a unique human being and not just a set of risks and challenges. We also recognise that families are the experts, so we work closely with families to create care pathways that empower the people we support to achieve their ambitions, acquire new skills, forge genuine community links and to live fulfilling lives.
A wide range of activities are offered both at Copwood and in the local community including: Arts and crafts, games, gardening, cooking, bingo. Trips to museums and galleries, swimming, bowling, ice skating, rock climbing, hiking, horse riding etc.
