Oaklands is a registered care home in a quiet residential area of Bedford that provides a safe and quiet setting with a spacious and personalised environment. It provides accommodation for seven people. Oaklands consists of seven very large bedrooms, each with private washing facilities. There are three bathrooms, including one on the ground floor that is a wet room for people with mobility needs.
The house is close to Bedford town centre, offering excellent access to local amenities and the community.
Communal facilities include a very large lounge, a spacious family-style kitchen with dining area, a second separate dining room and a utility room. There is also a conservatory with access to a patio area that fronts a lawned garden.
The people we support at Oaklands are encouraged to be as independent as possible and to manage their own daily routines. Individuals are supported to build their independent living skills through helping with household chores, laundry and preparing meals.
Each individual has a bespoke, person-centred plan tailored to their needs, aspirations and wishes.
Our aim is to provide a varied and stimulating day care programme that enables individuals to develop their life and social skills.
Oaklands has achieved National Autistic Society accreditation for quality autism provision. This means that we have specialised knowledge and understanding of autistic spectrum conditions, and have demonstrated positive outcomes for the individuals with autism that we support.
Services are provided to people with a learning disability or autistic spectrum condition or complex care needs.
