Lifeways Somerset began its journey in Somerset in 2005 when Paul Marriner started our first service The Avenue in Taunton. In 2006 Grove Court, Shepton Mallet and Longcroft, Yeovil joined our services. The Local Area Office relocated to Glastonbury and remained there until 2010 when Lifeways acquired Autism Solutions and the area office moved to its current location in Galmington. Since 2005 the Somerset service area has grown and we deliver nearly 20,000 hours support a month across 14 services in Somerset, alongside community support.
We enable the people we support to live an active and full life in their community by delivering services which meet their individual needs and aspirations. Whether it’s a few hours support each week to 24/7 care and support, we create innovative, personalised packages of support based around each person’s needs, the budget available and their individual goals.
Our person-centred approach places individuals at the centre of a local network of expert support which can include their family, carers, care managers and health and social care organisations and professionals. We have two service managers whom are accredited with creating and delivering individualized Positive Behavior Support plans and training, enabling every person to reach their full potential.
We assist people with a range of needs to live independently and safely in their own home – supporting them to access the social, leisure, education, training, voluntary work and employment opportunities and activities open to all members of the community.
