Woodland View provides short breaks for adults with a learning disability and is located in the heart of Walsall. The property can accommodate up to ten people at one time, everyone has their own person centred plan to ensure that they get the most out of their stay, for example working towards gaining increased independence and using local community leisure resources.

The property comprises of nine well-appointed spacious bedrooms that are equipped with ensuite wet rooms, assistive technology call system, door sensors for privacy and security which are set to the individuals needs and requirements, sensory projectors, televisions and ceiling track hoist systems.

The tenth bed is a self-contained one bedroom apartment, containing a lounge/ kitchen/ diner, bedroom and a wet room. The flat has its own separate entrance, but also has an entrance that leads into the main property which ensures staff are able to respond quickly via the assistive technology. The apartment has a very homely feel, the open plan kitchen/diner/lounge is bright and welcoming, with adaptive surfaces in the kitchen to enable wheel chair uses to access the hob and sink.

At the heart of the building is a spectacular light well, this large circular space connects the building together and houses the two large assistive technology bathrooms with Parker Malibu high/low lift reclining Jacuzzi baths, both bathrooms have ceiling hoist tracking systems.

The very large lounge/kitchen/dining area has been designed to be light, airy and welcoming, with two sets of patio doors and lots of windows set into the one side of this space, which enables residents to use the fully accessible garden as part of this room. The kitchen has adaptive surfaces and hob for wheel chair users to hone their cooking skills.

The large beautifully landscaped garden is wheel chair accessible, there are a set of adult swings, raised flower and herb beds and several seating areas.

A wide range of activities are offered both at Woodland View and in the local community including: Arts and Crafts, Games, Gardening, Cooking, Bingo. Trips to Moseley Old Hall, Cannock Chase, Phoenix Park include, Cycling, Fishing, Archery, Falconry, Laser Games, Tai Chi and Nordic Walking. Ackers Adventure Centre has lots to offer such as, Kayaking, Laser clay pigeon shooting, Mountain biking, Pedal go karting, Canoeing, Bell bottom boats, Activity trail challenge, Bush craft survival skills and Orienteering in the forest. Walsall is a convenient base for day trips to the surrounding areas and attractions.
