Life-changing residential care for adults with autism.
Type of property
Larchwood House is a residential service where people with learning disabilities, autism and other complex needs are empowered to live as independently as possible, to become integral members of the community and to achieve their goals and aspirations through individual care pathways.
The detached house has a kitchen, two living rooms, a laundry room, and four ensuite bathrooms - one has a bath, one has a wetroom-style shower and two have shower cubicles.
Each of the five apartments has one bedroom, an open-plan kitchen, dining room and living room, and a bathroom. People from the apartments have access to all communal spaces within the main house too.
Larchwood House also has an accessible garden with a patio, a decking area and a BBQ for people to enjoy the outdoors when the weather is good.

Larchwood House is in a residential area with cafes, pubs and a post office. Bedford is within walking distance and offers the Harpur Shopping Centre, a Vue Cinema, The Higgins Art Gallery and Museum, and Bedford Central Library.
For people who like to stay active, Trinity Arts and Leisure provides year-round access to exercise classes, a gym, sports courts and a swimming pool. People also enjoy walking in the local area - Bedford Park is a popular destination.

Living at this service
We are ready to welcome someone new to join the people we support here.
At Larchwood House, people choose how they spend their time. Trips to the coast are a particular favourite. People are encouraged to cook for themselves on a daily basis, and also have a cooking day once a week where everyone eats together. The people we support also celebrate birthdays and other special occasions as a group.
“At Larchwood House, there is a fantastic community feel and everyone helps each other out. The atmosphere within the house is really nice - it’s very varied and busy. The house itself is great and in a good area with amazing links into town. This really is a nice, warm and friendly place to live.” Manager, Larchwood House
