Open Day at SIL's Ashmount Court

On Thursday 7th December 2017, SIL’s Ashmount Court scheme in Balby, Doncaster, held an open day. Local community organisations, professionals, friends and family and local police were all welcomed on the day to find out more about SIL and how Ashmount Court contributes to local pathways for people with complex mental health needs.

Presentations were delivered by key members of staff including Service Development Director, Richard Cunningham, and two members of the Quality and Practice Team.

Paul Deacon, Recovery Coach, talked about SIL’s techniques for supporting people with complex mental health within SIL schemes and the benefits of partnership working; and Richard Jobey, Quality and Practice Area Lead (North) outlined the function and purpose of SIL’s Quality and Practice team in ensuring and supporting effective Recovery Practice in all areas of our service provision.

One of the people we support at Ashmount Court talked to people about her experiences within the scheme and how the staff have helped with her recovery journey and gain her confidence back again, she then proudly shown people around her apartment.

Claire Ridsdale, Scheme Manager for Ashmount Court said

“The day has been a great success, we’ve had a variety of people attend today to find out more information about what we do here in Balby. I’m very proud of the work that the team and myself do here to support people gain their independence and become valued members of their community.”
