There are beautiful walks in the surrounding countryside too. For people who like to stay active, Leyland Leisure Centre provides year-round access to a gym and swimming pool.
People also like to visit Preston, with its larger amenities. There’s St George’s and Fishergate Shopping Centres, the Harris Museum, art gallery and library, a Vue Cinema, and Preston Rock n Bowl.
Living at this service
Golden Hill is an ideal home for a sociable woman aged between 30 and 50. The people we support here are all women aged between 34 and 53. They have cerebral palsy, mild learning disabilities, and mental health conditions.
Their interests include going for coffee, doing puzzles and crafts, watching television, shopping, listening to music, cooking, karaoke, badminton, swimming, walking, and being in the community.
At Golden Hill, people choose how they spend their time - meetings are held every month to decide on what kind of activities we should do. People particularly enjoy going to Blackpool, Southport, Manchester and Chester Zoo.
“At Golden Hill, people enjoy being part of the friendly atmosphere. Everyone here has a big personality which creates a happy, engaging and active household.” Manager, Golden Hill
